French Brownies

Ruban texture, crème de cassis et. moi bring the French touch to this American classic!

ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt

  • 6 ounces of bittersweet chocolate, chopped

  • 6 ounces of unsalted butter

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of creme de cassis

 

instructions

  • Preheat an oven 300 degrees F.

  • Spray an 8-inch square baking pan with a with cooking spray and line with parchment.

  • In a small bowl combine the flour and salt.

  • Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a bain marie.

  • Remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the butter until melted.

  • Stir in the cassis and set aside.

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer beat the eggs and sugar until thick and pale, about 2 minutes.

  • Slowly add the chocolate mixer and beat until combined, then fold in the flour by hand.

  • Transfer the brownie batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top with an offset spatula.

  • Bake for 50 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean.

  • Cool the brownies in the pan and then slice for serving.
